London
Matsco Solutions was appointed, by way of introduction from a prime broker, to assist in the migration of a spinout from an existing hedge fund.

We had to completely separate and mirror the environments so the user experience remained unchanged without any disruption to the trading of 
either company.

Setting up a fully replicated disaster recover environment was also part of the project brief.  All systems were configured to have automatic failover with minimal disruption to users.

To accomplish this, we preformed an in depth audit of applications and system being used to fully spec out the hardware and software requirements. We also had to work with all parties to ensure all trading and portfolio management systems were not disrupted.

After the successful migration of systems Matsco Solutions was then asked to assist with the move of the fund to new premises to accommodate future growth. We were given full responsibility for all IT aspects of the move project to including: 

  • All circuit orders and delivery
  • Phone system integration
  • Dealerboard integration with private wires to brokers
  • Comms room design
  • Trade floor design
  • Move co-ordination

Matsco Solution's team successfully moved the company to the new premises and continue to provide full desktop, server and networking support for the environment. 

We are now assisting in the preparation of the next office move as the client continues to expand and outgrow its current office. 
 
New York: 
We provided a New York based Private Equity launch with the global design and we completed the build out technology of their head office and now provide ongoing support.

We also built out offices for them in London, Hong Kong and Mumbai and provide interconnectivity and 24 x 7 support for each location.

Hong Kong: 
A typical scenario in Hong Kong is the use of serviced offices by UK and US based funds to setup in Asia as a small footstep to test the waters before making the big jump.

Everybody knows that serviced offices have their variances with regards to technology and everything else that comes along with their offering.

Matsco Solutions assisted one client establish a sophisticated network infrastructure in a Data Centre that the client could connect to from the serviced office. This gave the client the ability to work anywhere in the region due to the centralisation of the technology without being constrained by having all their technology in a serviced office server rack.

Moving office for this client was easy given that all the technology was totally separate from the user base. Some small reconfiguration was required the client was up and running after an overnight move.

Singapore: 
The current trend for startup funds in Singapore have been to acquire their own premises and build out their office with the assistance of a local fit out company with Matsco Solutions Singapore project managing and taking care of the technology integration.

The location most funds have chosen to setup in have been in the Singapore CBD area which excels at catering for companies choosing to setup in either serviced offices, lease their own office space and more recently some other interesting locations such as "shop houses" have become available. 

Shop houses are 2 or 3 floor heritage buildings in the middle of the CBD, which have been retro fitted to cater for tenants seeking premium office facilities with large floor space at more affordable rental rates.

The demand for Data Centre's has recently grown due to higher standards set by investors for funds to have higher availability of their systems in case of disaster. Many local providers are constantly upgrading their facilities and building newer bigger sites to cater for clients to give them the same level of service quality you would find at any other US or UK based Data Centre.
