October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

In Compliance, Cyber Security, Financial Services Technology by Amaya Swanson

In addition to cooler weather, autumn leaves, and all things pumpkin, October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Sponsored by the National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) within the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), National Cybersecurity Awareness Month’s goal is to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in our lives.

Across the Atlantic, Europe observes European Cybersecurity Month, which is organized by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), the European Commission, and over 300 partners including governments, universities, and charities.

In the month of October – and beyond, as Cybersecurity should always be at the forefront of our minds – we will be covering a plethora of best practices around passwords, staying safe online, phishing awareness, the risks of public WiFi, and other general cybersecurity best practices.

Our first post, Staying Safe Online – Part One, will be up Friday!
